Community

Grocio Prado is a community in the region of Ica, Peru. We are in the district of Chincha. Grocio Prado is one of the larger communities that make up the whole of Chincha. The citizens of Grocio Prado have been devastatingly effected by the terremoto of August , 2007. Grocio Prado is still in recovery. We are a community of about 11,000 people, largely rural and underemployed. The children in Grocio Prado generally attend one of many schools here. There are several private parochial schools here in the area as well as national schools. Some of children here also go to school in Chincha, a short collectivo or taxi ride away. Grocio Prado relies heavily on income from Vendor related activities, with many home based stores and sidewalk vendor carts.
